The Brief
After successfully delivering a heated boot dryer for a previous customer, Unitech Engineering was approached by a (pretty famous!) professional football club looking for a customised version designed specifically for football boots.
The original system had been developed for drying wellington boots used within the food industry. However, the club required a solution better suited to football footwear.
The aim was to create a drying system that could quickly dry large numbers of football boots in a busy changing room environment.
The Solution
Unitech Engineering worked closely with the customer to adapt the original design and create a bespoke heated boot dryer built specifically for football boots.
The main adjustment involved shortening the drying prongs, as football boots are much smaller than wellington boots. This allowed the boots to sit correctly on the dryer.
The updated design allowed boots to dry efficiently while remaining easy for staff and players to load and unload.
The project also demonstrated the flexibility of our stainless steel manufacturing capabilities and how our systems can be modified for completely different industries and applications.
The Result
The finished heated boot dryer was successfully supplied to the football club and built around their exact requirements.
The project showed how equipment originally designed for the food industry could be adapted for use within professional sport through smart design changes and close collaboration with the customer.
