The Brief
Unitech Engineering was asked to manufacture and install protective screens for five production lines at the Greencore site in Atherstone.
Greencore Group plc, one of the UK’s leading convenience food manufacturers, required a practical solution to help support social distancing measures for employees working along their production lines.
The screens needed to provide protection without affecting the day-to-day running of the factory or slowing production.
The project also came with a very tight deadline, with the customer requesting completion within one week.
The Solution
Unitech Engineering designed and manufactured a series of bespoke protective screens using stainless steel frames and clear plastic sheeting.
The screens were built specifically for the production line environment, allowing staff to continue working efficiently while remaining separated and protected during operation.
Working to a short turnaround, our team managed the manufacturing and installation process quickly to meet the client’s required timeframe.
Close coordination between our workshop and installation teams allowed the project to move forward smoothly and helped minimise disruption on site during installation.
The Result
The full installation across all five production lines was completed within one week as requested by the client.
The screens provided Greencore with a practical and durable solution that supported employee safety while allowing production to continue efficiently.
