The Brief
Unitech Engineering was approached by one of the UK’s largest seafood processors to design and manufacture a fully contact-free hygiene sink system.
The client wanted to incorporate Dyson Airblade Wash + Dry tap assemblies into a stainless steel hygiene sink unit to improve hand washing hygiene within their facility.
The system needed to provide a practical and hygienic solution for high-usage areas while also reducing the need for separate hand dryers or paper towel dispensers.
The Solution
Working closely with the client, Unitech Engineering adapted the design of its existing sensor-operated sink units to integrate the Dyson Airblade wash and dry tap assemblies.
The finished unit allows users to wash and dry their hands without touching any surfaces on or around the sink. The Dyson assemblies use sensor-operated technology, helping reduce contact points within the wash area.
Manufactured from stainless steel, the sinks are designed for hygiene-focused environments where regular cleaning and durability are essential. Their robust construction makes them well suited for busy food production facilities and other high-traffic areas.
By combining hand washing and hand drying into one compact unit, the system also helps save valuable washroom space while removing the need for less hygienic standalone hand dryers or paper towel stations.
Unitech Engineering can manufacture these units in sizes ranging from single-person stations through to ten-person units, depending on the customer’s requirements.

The Result
The final design delivered a modern and fully contactless hygiene solution tailored to the client’s operational needs.
The integrated sink system provides a cleaner and more efficient hand washing process while supporting hygiene standards within a demanding food production environment.
The project also demonstrated Unitech Engineering’s ability to adapt existing stainless steel products to suit specialist customer requirements and new technologies.
